What luxury rehab costs in Florida
Many private centers do not post their prices. What drives the cost, how to get a written price, and where insurance, Medicare and private pay fit in.
Calls are answered by a partner at-home treatment provider, not by this guide.

Why the price is hard to pin down
If you have called a few Florida centers, you have probably heard some version of “it depends.” That is partly true. The cost of treatment depends on how much medical care your loved one needs, how long they stay, and what kind of room and setting they choose.
It is also true that a vague answer makes comparison hard, and comparison is what you need. The families we hear from most often fear one thing: paying a resort price for weak treatment. The way to avoid that is to separate the clinical cost from the comfort cost, and to get both in writing.
This guide, and the pages under it, will not quote you a number we cannot source. Instead they show you how to get a real price for your situation and how to check what your coverage will pay. For the quality side, use our clinical-first checklist.
How to get a written price
Ask every center you are considering for an itemized price in writing, before admission. A complete one shows:
- Detox days and the medical care included
- Residential days, and the room type the price assumes
- Psychiatry: how many visits, and whether medication management is included
- Individual therapy hours per week, and who provides them
- The family program, and whether it costs extra
- Labs, drug testing and medications
- Aftercare planning and any alumni or step-down services
- The refund policy if your loved one leaves early
If you are not using insurance, you have a federal right to a good faith estimate. CMS, the federal agency that runs Medicare, explains that a provider must give one when you schedule care at least 3 business days ahead, or when you ask for one. Each provider or facility gives its own estimate, so you may need more than one.
What drives the cost
- Level of care. Medical detox and residential care, where your loved one lives on site, cost more than partial hospitalization (a full-day program, home at night) or intensive outpatient care (several sessions a week).
- Length of stay. Longer programs cost more in total. Ask whether the price is fixed or charged by the day.
- Medical intensity. Around-the-clock nursing, psychiatry and treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions add cost, and add value.
- Setting and privacy. Private rooms, small client numbers and executive tracks raise the price without changing the clinical care.
- Treatment at home. A private team that comes to you is priced differently again. See our treatment at home guide.
A warning sign: offers of free travel, free rent or other perks for choosing a center. Florida’s patient brokering law, section 817.505, bars paying or receiving kickbacks or similar benefits for patient referrals or for accepting treatment.

Cost questions
Why won’t a center tell me the price on the phone?
Some centers want an assessment first, because the medical plan drives the price. That is fair, up to a point. Ask for a written estimate once the assessment is done, and be wary of any center that will not put a price on paper before admission.
Is luxury rehab tax deductible?
It may be, in part. IRS Publication 502 says medical expenses can include amounts paid for inpatient treatment at a therapeutic center for alcohol or drug addiction, including meals and lodging the center provides during treatment. Rules and limits apply, so ask a tax professional.
Is treatment at home cheaper than a center?
Not always. A private team, especially round-the-clock nursing, can cost as much as a residential stay. Ask both options for a written price that covers the same length of time and the same clinical services. Our concierge rehab page explains what to compare.
Does a higher price mean better care?
No. Price often reflects the setting more than the treatment. Judge the clinical team first, then the setting. Our page on whether luxury rehab is worth it walks through the trade-offs.
