What private treatment looks like here
Central Florida has no ocean view, and that can be useful. Centers here sell other things: quiet, privacy and the program itself. Some are larger campuses in the Orlando area. Others are small private homes on lakes farther south.
Size matters. A program with six beds feels very different from one with dozens. A small program can offer more one-on-one time. A larger one may have more specialists on site. Ask how many clients are in treatment at once and how many hours of therapy each person gets in a week.
Ask where your loved one would sleep. Some groups advertise an Orlando program but list their campuses in other cities. Get the street address of the residence before you agree. If a coastal setting matters, compare with Tampa Bay.
How to read accreditation
Accreditation is a review by an outside group that checks a program’s safety and quality. In addiction treatment, the two names you will see most are The Joint Commission and CARF (the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities). Accreditation is voluntary. A state license from DCF is required. They are not the same thing.
- Check the license on the DCF licensing page. Note which services are listed, such as detox or residential treatment.
- Check CARF accreditation on CARF’s provider search.
- Ask for proof of Joint Commission accreditation in writing, and make sure it covers the program your loved one would attend, not only a sister site.
- Check the doctors and nurses on the Florida Department of Health license lookup.
Our guide to Joint Commission vs CARF explains the difference in more detail.

Orlando and Central Florida questions
Is there executive rehab near Orlando?
Some programs in Central Florida describe executive tracks or very small private settings. Ask how they handle work contact, laptops and phone time, and whether they help plan the return to work. Our executive rehab guide covers what to ask.
Is a small six-bed program better than a large campus?
Not by itself. A small program can mean more personal attention. A larger one may have more medical and psychiatric staff on site. Ask both kinds about staffing, therapy hours and how they handle a medical problem at night.
How long does a stay usually last?
There is no single answer. Many programs talk in terms of 30, 60 or 90 days, but the right length depends on progress. Ask how the center decides when your loved one is ready to step down, and what the next step looks like. See how long luxury rehab lasts.
What does accreditation not tell me?
It tells you a program met an outside group’s standards when it was reviewed. It does not tell you how a given therapist works, or whether the program fits your loved one. Treat it as a floor, then ask your own questions.
